For optimal use, degrease the welding surfaces beforehand with degreasing solutions (alcohol, acetone, thinner, etc.). Also, the best gas for this welding dip is high-temperature gas, namely propane or a mix of propane + acetylene (map).

DO NOT APPLY THE FLAME DIRECTLY TO THE WAND, HEAT THE MATERIALS AND THEN PLACE THE WAND INTO THEM TO MELT. Otherwise the paste will spoil and no longer stick.

Flux applied during soldering also helps a lot.
