This adapter can be mounted on most standard drilling machines to allow the use of square hole drill bits. It has not been tested on cordless drills and most likely will not work with them. The adapter was tested and designed for 220V drill presses with a 40–42 mm chuck.
The adapter also includes an elastic sleeve that reduces the size to 40 mm or 42 mm, depending on the type of machine you are using.
Check the length of the adapter you need and select it from the list next to the add-to-cart button.
To determine the size you need, measure the distance from the tip of the chuck to the fixed part where the drill adapter attaches. If the distance is less than 120 mm, you need the 155 mm adapter; if it is greater than 110 mm, the 173 mm adapter will also work.
For the assembly to work properly, make sure that:
- the spiral tip is glued to the semi-circular part of the square chisel bit
- you use a little lubricant on the drill bit head from time to time
- you use it at a low speed (350 rpm is ideal)
- you push the adapter into the wood firmly when using it (the harder the wood, the more firmly it must be pressed)
- you use drill bits that are compatible with this adapter
- you do not use the hammer function, only the rotary function of the drill
- you may not have enough drilling force if you use drill bits thicker than 10–12 mm.
